The Return of the Sun

On Christmas, Julie, Miriam, Michael and I went for a walk in Yahara Place Park. It was a beautiful day – the first day with sun since early December.  During the preceding weeks,  a lot of the discussion at Orchard Ridge was about the meaning of advent.  I had never dug too deeply into the meaning of advent myself, but this Christmas, the return of the sun on Christmas day was highlighted by a work of art at the park.  What a fantastic way to frame the concept of advent – with the return of the sun being augmented by ice arranged at the park.

Next advent, this will be an image I focus on!

Our Tree

20141226-224813.jpgWe got our tree at a farm north of Madison. The farm also had real reindeer and hot cider. I like the longer needle trees, and this one seemed to have extra character. Our three cats don’t seem that interested in it.
